Our Commitment
Reel Axis is committed to making reelaxis.com usable by everyone, including people who browse with a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification, or reduced motion. We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
How we check
We test rather than assume. An automated WCAG 2.1 AA audit runs against a sample of pages covering every page type and design treatment on the site, and it is part of the build process, so a regression fails the check rather than going unnoticed. The most recent audit, in August 2026, returned no violations across 31 pages.
Automated testing catches roughly half of what matters. It cannot judge whether alt text is useful, whether link text makes sense out of context, or whether a screen-reader journey through a page is coherent. Those we review by hand, and they are where our remaining gaps are most likely to be.
What we have verified
- Keyboard navigation — Interactive elements are reachable and operable by keyboard. A "Skip to content" link is the first focusable element on every page.
- Colour contrast — Text meets the WCAG AA minimums, 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text. This was measured, not assumed: an August 2026 audit found and fixed 225 failures, including our primary call-to-action button.
- Screen reader support — Semantic HTML, ARIA landmarks, and a correct heading order on every page.
- Focus indicators — Visible focus rings on interactive elements.
- Responsive design — No horizontal scrolling at any width we support, down to 390px.
- Reduced motion — Animation is suppressed when your system asks for it, and no content depends on animation to be understood.
- Images — Informational images carry alternative text; decorative ones are hidden from assistive technology.
- Forms — Fields have visible labels, and errors are conveyed by text and context rather than colour alone.
Known Limitations
- Part of the site still runs on our previous design system while we finish migrating it. It passes the same automated checks, but it has had less hand testing than the newer pages.
- Our automated audit covers a representative sample of pages, not all of them. Pages sharing a layout with a tested page are covered by extension; a page with a genuinely novel treatment might not be.
- We have not yet completed a full manual screen-reader pass of every page.
- Third-party content we embed, such as the Calendly booking widget, is outside our direct control. If it blocks you, email us and we will book the time with you directly.
